NDAQ - Nasdaq Announces Mid-Month Open Short Interest Positions in Nasdaq Stocks as of Settlement Date July 14 2023

NEW YORK, July 25, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the end of the settlement date of July 14, 2023, short interest in 3,291 Nasdaq Global Market ^SM securities totaled 10,433,832,264 shares compared with 10,495,374,039 shares in 3,300 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of June 30, 2023. The mid-July short interest represents 3.26 days compared with 2.49 days for the prior reporting period.

Short interest in 1,777 securities on The Nasdaq Capital Market ^SM totaled 2,110,180,280 shares at the end of the settlement date of July 14, 2023, compared with 2,091,638,589 shares in 1,770 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents a 1.19 day average daily volume; the previous reporting period’s figure was 1.34.

In summary, short interest in all 5,068 Nasdaq® securities totaled 12,544,012,544 shares at the July 14, 2023 settlement date, compared with 5,070 issues and 12,587,012,628 shares at the end of the previous reporting period. This is 2.52 days average daily volume, compared with an average of 2.18 days for the prior reporting period.
