NDAQ - Nasdaq Announces Mid-Month Open Short Interest Positions in Nasdaq Stocks as of Settlement Date September 15 2023

NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the end of the settlement date of September 15, 2023, short interest in 3,247 Nasdaq Global Market ^SM securities totaled 10,586,849,412 shares compared with 10,277,162,921 shares in 3,267 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of August 31, 2023. The mid-September short interest represents 3.23 days compared with 3.40 days for the prior reporting period.

Short interest in 1,757 securities on The Nasdaq Capital Market ^SM totaled 1,790,495,980 shares at the end of the settlement date of September 15, 2023, compared with 1,740,359,933 shares in 1,771 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents a 1.45 day average daily volume; the previous reporting period’s figure was 1.05.

In summary, short interest in all 5,004 Nasdaq ^® securities totaled 12,377,345,392 shares at the September 15, 2023 settlement date, compared with 5,038 issues and 12,017,522,854 shares at the end of the previous reporting period.
