DH - Nasdaq S&P 500 Dow Jones sliding as Meta prompts risk-off moves

The major averages are back trading close to the lows of the session after trying to gain some upward momentum in the morning. The Nasdaq (COMP.IND) -2.5% is still the big decliner as Meta tumbles following its earnings report. Meta is the fourth-biggest component in the Nasdaq 100 (NDX) -2.9% with a weighting of 5% and it is set to lose the most equity value ever in one day. The S&P (SP500) -1.6% is also feeling the impact, with the Communication Services sector off 5% due to Meta and the collateral damage on other social media plays.   Ten of 11 S&P sectors are lower, with Info Tech and Consumer Discretionary the other big decliners. Consumer Staples is the only gainer.
