NDAQ - Nasdaq US equity options volume falls 9% in December
- Nasdaq ( NASDAQ: NDAQ ) said Wednesday its U.S. equity options volume in December fell 9.2% sequentially to 246M contracts (-4.7% Y/Y), the exchange's monthly volume statistics showed.
- U.S. matched equity volume ticked 1.8% lower M/M to 39.54B shares (-8.3% Y/Y).
- European options and futures volume stood at 5.8M contracts, up 1.8% M/M and flat Y/Y.
- European equity volume dropped 12.7% M/M to $62.7B (-28.8% Y/Y).
- Nasdaq ( NDAQ ) stock dipped 1.3% after the bell.
- Earlier, Nasdaq chief Adena Friedman took on the additional role of board chair .
