NDAQ - Nasdaq US equity options volume shrinks ~3% sequentially in February
- Nasdaq ( NASDAQ: NDAQ ) said Thursday its U.S. equity options volume in February slipped 2.7% from the prior month to 252M contracts, but rose 4.6% Y/Y, according to the exchange's latest monthly volume statistics .
- U.S. matched equity volume for the month slipped ~2% sequentially to 35.65B shares, or down 14.4% Y/Y.
- European options and futures volume totaled 5.6M contracts, down 13.8% M/M and down 20% Y/Y.
- European equity volume reached $74.8B, up 6.1% sequentially, but slumped 25% Y/Y.
- Nasdaq ( NDAQ ) stock slipped 1% after the bell.
- Earlier, Nasdaq's ( NDAQ ) Q4 earnings missed estimates as costs rose more than expected .
