VIACA - Nickelodeon Mattel launching new 'Monster High' programming
Nickelodeon ([[VIAC]] -3%, [[VIACA]] -3.5%) and Mattel (MAT -2.8%) plan to launch a new animated series and live-action TV movie based on Monster High, Nick's franchise about the children of famous creatures. That comes via Nickelodeon working with Mattel Television, which has been pushing into new toy-friendly content based on brands including Barbie, Masters of the Universe, Thomas & Friends, Polly Pocket and Fireman Sam. The new animated show is set to premiere on the various Nickelodeon platforms globally in 2022. The franchise's live-action film debut will also be available on Nick platforms next year. “Monster High’s strong message of inclusivity is more relevant than ever,” says Mattel Television' Fred Soulie. “Nickelodeon shares our passion for the brand and its purpose having worked on the franchise when it first launched more than a decade ago."
