A long-awaited update to the Nintendo Switch (NTDOY -4%) may be at hand, with the videogame maker reportedly planning a new model with a bigger display in time for the holiday season. The Switch turned four years old yesterday, and so Nintendo's consoles are releasing out of cycle with major rivals at Sony (SNE -3.4%) and Microsoft (MSFT -1.3%) - each of which brought out next-generation hardware last fall. But that's led to Nintendo holding its own with some outsized sales before the new consoles came out. Now it plans new Switches with a larger OLED display. Samsung Display will start mass production of 7-inch, 720p-resolution OLED panels as soon as June with an initial monthly target of nearly a million units, Bloomberg reports.
