NTDOY - Nintendo unveils new Mario game others at Direct presentation

Nintendo ( OTCPK:NTDOY ) made several announcements at its June Direct presentation on Wednesday, including the release of a new Mario game, on back of the heels of popular The Super Mario Bros. movie.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the next 2-D entry in the popular video game franchise, which has sold more than 800M units worldwide. The new game, for which pricing has not yet been announced, is slated to be released on the Nintendo Switch on October 20, the Japanese entertainment giant said.

In addition to unveiling a new Mario game, Nintendo ( OTCPK:NTDOY ) announced a new, untitled game focusing on Princess Peach.

Princess Peach was voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy in the aforementioned movie, which has become the number one film at the box office this year, grossing more than $1.33B worldwide, including more than $500M domestically.

Nintendo ( OTCPK:NTDOY ) also showed off several new games at the presentation on Wednesday, including a remake of Super Mario RPG for the Switch, a re-release of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the Switch and digital releases of Pikmin 1, 2 and 3 ahead of next month's release of Pikmin 4 .

Nintendo ( OTCPK:NTDOY ) shares fell around 0.5% in early Wednesday trading.
