NSANF - Nissan to spend $17.6B over five years to ramp up electric vehicle production
Nissan (OTCPK:NSANY) unveils plans to spend ¥2T ($17.6B) over the next five years to electrify more of its lineup, and introduce 15 new electric vehicle models by FY 2030. In its Ambition 2030 strategy released today, Nissan says half of its vehicles sold will be powered at least partly by batteries by 2030. Working with partners including Renault and Mitsubishi, Nissan says it aims to increase its global battery production capacity to 52 GWh by 2026 and 130 GWh by 2030. Nissan's plans are similar to those outlined earlier this year by Ford, GM and Stellantis to achieve sales of 40%-50% of annual U.S. volumes of electric vehicles by 2030.
