NTH:CC - Nord Precious Metals Crews Complete 68th Test Pit at High-Grade Castle Silver Mine, Discover Extensive New Tailings Deposit
(TheNewswire)
Excavator work for gravity circuit pad preparationreveals significant mineralized material.
July 2, 2025 - TheNewswire -- Nord Precious MetalsMining Inc. (TSX-V: NTH | OTCQB: CCWOF | FRANKFURT: 4T9B)("Nord" or the "Company") field crews andearth-moving equipment have been conducting test pits around thehigh-grade Castle Silver Mine headframe. Test pits to date haveencountered historic tailings and mine rock to the limit of theexcavator digging depth of five meters. Many test pits containedtailings from surface and were beyond the reach of the excavator andopen to depth. Test pit 68, located 140 meters from the Castle SilverMine headframe, contained tailings to a depth of four meters andremained open to depth. Nord plans to carry on with the test pits tothe claim boundaries to test the tailing depth from the migratorytailings of the adjoining mining property.
Management Commentary
"Test pits around the Castle Silver Mine headframe indicate thatthe fenced-in compound area proposed for the pad of the Gravity Plantand roads have been built on historical tailings," said Frank J.Basa, B.Eng., CEO. "This is seen as a new tailings discoverywhich will require further evaluation to determine the size of thetailings deposit. What we're uncovering validates our district-scaleapproach, as these aren't isolated pockets but extensive deposits thathave accumulated over a century of mining activity."
Key Highlights
Significant Discovery : 68 testpits reveal widespread tailings deposits extending beyond five-meterexcavator reach, suggesting substantial tonnage of material previouslyunaccounted for in resource calculations
Strategic Timing : Discoveryaligns with MICA-funded pilot program announced June 17, 2025,providing immediate feed material for the 1,000-hour demonstration ofRe-2Ox technology at TTL
Operational Synergies : Newtailings can be processed through the gravity circuit for silverrecovery, with resulting concentrates feeding the Re-2Ox process forcritical metals extraction – validating the integrated hub-and-spokemodel
Near-Term Value Creation : Withthe planned Recovery Permit submission, the Company is evaluatingwhether to incorporate these newly discovered tailings into theapplication to maximize the initial scope of operations, a strategicopportunity that could enhance project economics from day one
Low-Cost, High-Impact Build
The test pilot gravity circuit, purchased in 2024 and installed atTTL, includes a 30-inch Falcon concentrator and single double-throwgravity spiral. Tailings test work will be undertaken at this facilityexclusively. Initial metallurgical testing on Miller Creek tailingshas demonstrated silver grades up to 786,809 g/t in gravityconcentrates .
Next Steps
The Company will continue test pit exploration to claim boundaries tofully delineate the extent of the newly discovered tailings. Samplingprotocols are being implemented to characterize silver and criticalmetals content. Results will be integrated into the ongoing RecoveryPermit application and will inform the optimal placement of processinginfrastructure.
"Every test pit tells a story of untapped value," addedBasa. "With our gravity circuit ready at TTL and the Re-2Ox pilotprogram launching this year, we're positioned to transform thesehistorical liabilities into near-term cash flow while demonstratingour technology for global deployment."

About Nord Precious Metals MiningInc.
Nord Precious Metals Mining Inc. operates the only permittedhigh-grade milling facility in the historic Cobalt Camp of Ontario, where the Company has established a unique position integratinghigh-grade silver discovery with strategic metals recovery operations. The Company's flagship Castle property encompasses 63 sq. km ofexploration ground and the past-producing Castle Mine, complemented bythe Castle East discovery where drilling has delineated 7.56 millionounces of silver in Inferred resources gradingan average of 8,582 g/t Ag (250.2 oz/ton) in 27,400 tonnes of materialfrom two sections (1A and 1B) of the Castle East Robinson Zone, beginning at a vertical depth of approximately 400 meters. Note thatmineral resources that are not mineral reserves and do not havedemonstrated economic viability. Please refer to the Nord PreciousMetals Press Release May 27, 2020,for the resource estimate.
Nord's integrated processing strategy leverages the synergistic valueof multiple metals. High-grade silver recovery supports the economicsof extracting critical minerals including cobalt, nickel, and otherbattery metals, while the Company's proprietary Re-2Oxhydrometallurgical process enables production of technical-gradecobalt sulphate and nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) formulations. Thismulti-metal approach, combined with established infrastructureincluding TTL Laboratories and underground mine access, positions Nordto capitalize on both precious metals markets and the growing demandfor battery materials.
The Company maintains a strategic portfolio of battery metalsproperties in Northern Quebec through its 35% ownership in ConiagasBattery Metals Inc. (TSXV: COS) as well as the St. Denis-Sangsterlithium project comprising 260 square kilometers of prospective groundnear Cochrane, Ontario.
