VIAV - Openreach taps Viavi solution to aid full fiber buildout in UK

Viavi Solutions (VIAV -1.4%) says UK digital infrastructure firm Openreach is using Viavi solutions to accelerate Full Fibre broadband deployment. Openreach is tapping Viavi's Optical Network Monitoring System for its ability to address networks remotely (from validing new construction to performing preactivation checks to monitoring service). That reduces the need for costly engineering visits, Viavi says. Openreach has a taqrget to deliver 20M homes passed with fiber-to-the-premises by the mid- to late 2020s; it's on track to reach 4.5M premises by the end of this month.
