IX - ORIX USA Appoints Art Mbanefo Chief Investment Officer and Head of Principal Business

ORIX Corporation USA (ORIX USA), the U.S. and Latin America business hub for international financial services company, ORIX Corporation (ORIX), announced today that Art Mbanefo was named as the company’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Head of Principal Business. Mbanefo, a 33-year veteran in the financial services industry, joined the firm’s executive management team in New York as a Senior Managing Director.

In his new role, Mbanefo is responsible for managing the active investment, underwriting and allocation of assets of ORIX USA and has oversight for all principal business. In addition, he is responsible for adding new strategies, businesses and assets to ORIX USA’s balance sheet.

Mbanefo brings a wealth of investment experience across multiple debt and equity classes to ORIX USA. He most recently was CIO of Barclays International, where he had wide-ranging responsibilities over the entire balance sheet, including direct responsibility for the Investing and Lending business, Asset and Structured Finance, Financial Resource Management, Strategic and Private Equity Investments and Asset Management. Prior to Barclays, Art served as CIO and Chief Executive Officer of two alternative investment management firms.
