OXFD - Oxford Immunotec updates T-SPOT COVID-19 test kit with new panel

Oxford Immunotec (OXFD) announces an update to the configuration of its T-SPOT Discovery SARS-CoV-2 kit to include a cross-reactive panel.An additional panel included in the kit contains epitopes of high genetic homology to endemic human coronaviruses (HCoV), and will facilitate research into the role HCoV play in the immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection, the company said.The inclusion of a cross-reactive panel in the T-SPOT kit will help investigators understand this effect in more detail and better understand the broader immune responses, Oxford added.Oxford had inked a deal with Valneva to perform T cell testing on participants receiving Valneva's inactivated whole-virus COVID-19 vaccine candidate (VLA2001) with the research use only T-SPOT test, Oxford said last month.
