Lower prices for packaging and higher operating costs led to lower profitability for Packaging Corporation of America ( NYSE: PKG ) as the company’s adjusted earnings fell to $2.20 per share, down $0.11 from the same quarter last year but 5 cents better than Wall Street’s expectations.
