JAPAF - Philip Morris to stop selling cigarettes in the U.K. within the next 10 years

Joe Raedle/Getty Images News Philip Morris International (PM) plans to end selling cigarettes in the U.K. within ten years. Philip Morris CEO Jacek Olczak told the Daily Mail that the cigarette maker's plan are part of its efforts to phase out traditional smoking in the country. Individuals who want to still smoke will be encouraged to switch to e-cigarettes or heated tobacco devices. Olczak told the paper that the Marlboro brand will disappear from Britain over time.  The U.K. news comes after a report in May that Philip Morris plans to stop selling cigarettes in Japan with 10 years.
