APHA - Pot stocks are mixed as House passes legalization bill that's unlikely to get a Senate vote
Cannabis stocks had an uncertain reaction to the House of Representatives voting to remove marijuana from federal drug schedules under the Controlled Substances Act.The 228-164 vote in favor of legalization is a milestone, but has little chance of getting a vote on the Senate floor. Still, it's also indicative of what's likely coming under a Biden administration. The bill decriminalizes marijuana on the federal level and creates pathways for ownership opportunities in the emerging industry, allows obtaining medical cannabis recommendations and establishes funding sources to reinvest in communities affected by the war on drugs. But stocks are mixed after the vote became official.Aurora Cannabis ([[ACB]], -0.5%), Aphria ([[APHA]], +2%), Tilray ([[TLRY]], -1%), Canopy Growth ([[CGC]], -0.3%), Cronos Group ([[CRON]], -1.7%), CuraLeaf Holdings ([[CURLF]], +2.9%), Green Thumb ([[GTBIF]], +2.8%), ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF ([[MJ]], +0.3%)
