IBDRY - PPL's $14B U.K. sale draws three final bidders - Bloomberg

The sale of PPL Corp.'s (PPL) U.K. business has come down to three final bidders, Bloomberg reports: Macquarie Group (MCQEF), Enel (ENLAY) and Iberdrola (IBDRY).Final offers are due in the coming weeks for the Western Power Distribution arm, which could be valued at ~£10B ($13.8B), according to the report.Macquarie is said to have teamed up with Dutch pension fund investor APG and Canada's Public Sector Pension Investment Board, while Italian utility Enel is leading a consortium that includes asset manager Equitix Ltd. and German insurer Allianz.PPL's dividend growth rates have slowed recently but there are still plenty of earnings to meet the large dividend payment, Individual Trader writes in a bullish analysis posted recently on Seeking Alpha.
