Real estate investment trusts already mark 2021 as a record year as total merger and acquisition transaction volume hits $108B amid robust earnings and growth outlooks, according to JLL's M&A and Strategic Transactions Monitor. 63% of REITs beat consensus FFO estimates in Q2, which has contributed to REITs outperforming the S&P 500 (SP500) by 1.1K basis points so far, according to the report.
