ACRHF - Republican-sponsored marijuana legalization bill formally introduced in House
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) has formally introduced the States Reform Act, legislation that removes marijuana as a Schedule I substance and leaves cannabis reform up to states. In addition, the bill would allow for federal release of and expunge the records of those convicted of non-violent marijuana offenses. Although Democrats have their own marijuana legalization bill, Mace's bill could encourage more bipartisan support of such legislation given she is a Republican. Mace said that she already has a few Republican co-sponsors, Marijuana Moment reported. "My main goal is to get as much Republican support as I can initially, and we're hearing great feedback from both chambers, both sides of the aisle on this piece of legislation," she said. When word spread last week of Mace's imminent legislation, Cantor Fitzgerald predicted that U.S. multi-state operators would rebound. Multi-state operators today: Trulieve Cannabis (OTCQX:TCNNF -0.8%), Curaleaf Holdings (OTCPK:CURLF -4.9%), Green Thumb Industries
