SUNL - Rocket stock jumps 7.2% after launch into solar panel financing

Shares of mortgage financier Rocket Companies (NYSE:RKT) surge +7.2% after announcing a move into the fast-growing solar energy market. Citing a study by Solar Energy Industries Association and Wood Mackenzie, Rocket says the market is seen quadrupling by 2030. The new rate-and-term refi will give homeowners the ability to consolidate any solar panel loan with their mortgage for one low interest rate; it also enables homeowners to leverage the full value of their existing federal solar Investment Tax Credit and any other local tax credit they may qualify for. The company is setting up a Rocket Cloud Force that will serve as solar advisors, connecting homeowners to a digital financing application; it will then facilitate the installation of a new solar solution.
