SJR - Rogers Communications says no timetable to fix widespread telecom outage

• A massive network outage that impacted Canadian telecom giant Rogers Communications ( RCI ) was showing no signs of abating by Friday afternoon as multiple network systems remained offline around the country.
• Mobile phone networks, Internet service providers, bank ATM machines and other systems were reportedly experiencing slow or no service beginning Friday morning. Police departments in the province of Ontario were said to also be suffering from connection issues involving 911 emergency service calls
• "We are aware of issues currently affecting our networks and our teams are fully engaged to resolve the issue as soon as possible," Rogers tweeted out on Friday .
• Last month, Rogers ( RCI ) and Shaw Communications ( SJR ) said they were seeking mediation to facilitate the companies' proposed C$26B merger .
