CMCSA - Roku rebound makes it a Communications standout for week while cablecos slide
Communications Services stocks rebounded with the rest of the market this week - with even the worst-performing sector, Consumer Discretionary, up 2.5%. Communications ended up in the middle of the pack sectorwise, with the stocks up 2.94%. And among the top gainers was Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU), which rose 11.5% on the week primarily due to a renewed deal with YouTube that keeps the video app and its live-video service YouTube TV on the platform, ending a multi-month stand-off. It did slightly better than Live Nation (NYSE:LYV), which gained 10.8% for the week and did a lot of its rising on Monday, part of a broad-based rally in reopening-related names as headlines circulated that the Omicron variant of COVID-19 might not be as severe as feared.
