EOG - S&P 500 Roars 54 Points to Another Record Overpowering Oil Stock Crash Apple Stock Selloff
The S&P 500 Index (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) gained 54 points, up 1.5%, to close at another record high of 3580.84 on Sept. 2. Today's surge came even with shares of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), the biggest public company in the U.S. with a market cap of $2.3 trillion, falling 2.1%, and a broad swath of oil stocks falling sharply on data that says the oil recovery is stuck in neutral.
The biggest loser today was Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ: FANG), with shares down 5.6%. Of the 20 worst-performing stocks in the S&P today, 12 were oil companies.
