Members of the Sackler family who own Purdue Pharma raised their settlement offer in ongoing opioid litigation to $4.3b from $3b, according to a Reuters report.Sackler family members are offering to contribute $4.3b to help settle thousands of lawsuits from U.S. communities that are trying to hold the Oxycontin maker responsible for damages related to the opioid epidemic.Details of the new settlement offer may be outlined in a Purdue reorganization plan filed in U.S. bankruptcy court next week, Reuters said.Other players in the opioid crisis include Teva Pharmaceutical (TEVA), Endo International (ENDP), Mallinckrodt (MNK), McKesson (MCK), Cardinal Health (CAH) and AmerisourceBergen (ABC).Recall Nov. 25, Purdue Pharma pleads guilty to criminal opioid crisis charges.Recall September 2019, Purdue Pharma files for bankruptcy.
