STOSF - Santos OKs development of $3.6B Barossa natural gas project

Santos (STOSF) says it has made a final investment decision to move forward with the $3.6B Barossa natural gas project, in what analysts expect will be a wave of new investments by energy companies in Australia.Natural gas from Barossa will feed Santos' existing Darwin LNG facility, where it will be turned into liquefied natural gas for export.The FID also triggers $600M in planned investments to extend the life of Darwin LNG for ~20 years; the plant can produce 3.7M metric tons/year of LNG.First production from the Barossa project is expected in H1 2025.
