EYES - Second Sight Medical trades higher on news of patent win

Second Sight Medical Products ([[EYES]] +6.9%) is trading higher on the news of a patent granted to the company by the European Patent Office ((EPO)).The patent titled “Cortical interface with an electrode array divided into separate fingers and/or with a wireless transceiver” has been issued to Second Sight Medical today, according to data from the EPO website.Second Sight Medical has witnessed more than a fivefold rise in its share price over the past 12-month period.In January, the company shares surged as much as 17% in what appeared to be a reaction to a patent granted to the company by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.Despite its popularity on social media and “significant” retail investor interest,  “the business isn't worth much in its current state,” wrote Seeking Alpha contributor on a “very bearish” thesis on Second Sight Medical in March.
