Semiconductors are on the way up and have been for quite some time. While there have been some selloffs along the way, semis are trending up. For instance, ever since the market bottomed on Christmas Eve 2018, a semiconductor ETF, the iShares PHLX Semiconductor ETF (SOXX), has almost doubled in value. Going back further in time to the depths of the global financial crisis in 2008/2009, SOXX has appreciated by roughly ten times. So, if history is any indicator, semis look to be a good place to be in. However, there are a
