I think ShotSpotter is in many ways impressive. The company has managed to start controlling costs and the balance sheet is very strong.
The problem is the valuation. All of the good news is already priced in, in my view, so the potential upside from here is limited. Not so for the downside.
I admit that I've had a blind spot where this company is concerned, and my successful short was more lucky than good. That said, valuation still matters.
