SMAWF - Siemens wins Euro530M U.K. train maintenance contract extension

Siemens ( OTCPK:SIEGY ) said Wednesday it secured a rail vehicle service contract extension for another eight years worth €530M ($568.9M).

The contract includes maintenance services for 51 trains of the Class 185 fleet serving TransPennine Express routes in the U.K. operating between Manchester, Sheffield and Cleethorpes and Manchester to Hull from northwest of England depots, Siemens ( OTCPK:SIEGY ) Mobility said.

Siemens ( OTCPK:SIEGY ) said it will work closely with operator TransPennine Trains Ltd. and train owner EversholtRail to ensure continued reliable service of the Class 185s throughout the extended contract to 2031.
