SMPL - Simply Good Foods names former J. M. Smucker executive Geoff Tanner as CEO elect

• Simply Good Foods ( NASDAQ: SMPL ) on Monday said it had named Geoff Tanner as its president, chief operating officer and CEO elect.
• "Tanner will subsequently succeed Joseph E. Scalzo as Chief Executive Officer on July 7, 2023," SMPL said in a statement .
• Scalzo will transition to executive vice chair of the board, effective July 7, and will serve through the company's fiscal year end 2024.
• According to SMPL, Tanner was formerly at J. M. Smucker ( SJM ), where he served as chief commercial and marketing officer since Oct. 2019.
• Simply Good Foods ( SMPL ) stock was down 1.5% to $35.57 after hours.
