ATAC - Sixth Street sues to block Dyal Owl Rock combination

Sixth Street Partners files a suit to block Dyal Capital Partners' proposed merger with Owl Rock Capital Partners, saying the deal would violate its earlier pact with Dyal, Bloomberg reports.Sixth Street wants the combination to be put on hold until the court determines whether a 2017 agreement gives New York-based Sixth Street the authority to nix the merger.Dyal contends that Sixth Street is misinterpreting the agreement that was entered into when Dyal bought an ~10% stake in Sixth Street.In December 2020, Owl Rock and Dyal announced a complex merger that would create Blue Owl, which would go public with $45B in assets through special purpose acquisition company Altimar Acquisition (ATAC).
