WORK - Slack CEO teases new audio features to Salesforce's apparent surprise
Slack (WORK) CEO Stewart Butterfield says a feature to leave audio messages is currently in beta testing, and the service will soon launch a Clubhouse-esque feature that allows users to drop into rooms for audio chats without scheduling a meeting or launching a call.Butterfield's comments came during a Clubhouse chat with journalist and investor Josh Constine.Slack will also add a video messaging feature that's similar to the oft-imitated Stories from Snapchat.Butterfield had said last October that these features were on the Slack roadmap, but the new comments confirm the roadmap remains intact as the company waits to close its acquisition by Salesforce (CRM).After Butterfield's comments, Salesforce COO Bret Taylor tweeted: "Apparently the way to find out about all the cool unreleased @SlackHQ features is to invite @stewart to do a Clubhouse."Salesforce is reportedly eyeing Taylor to serve as co-CEO with Marc Benioff.
