WORK - Slack edits new direct message feature after harassment concerns
Less than a day after launching a new direct message feature, Slack (WORK) has changed the new Slack Connect offering that sparked harassment and abuse concerns.Slack Connect launched with the ability to DM other people within a user's channel. But Slack then opened up the ability to send a DM to any other paid Connect user, regardless of channel. The DM would come with a link that required the recipient to opt-in for the conversation to properly launch. The sender was able to send a message with that link, and the message part is what has been removed.Recent news: Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield says he doesn't expect the Justice Department to object to the pending acquisition by Salesforce.
