MGNI - Snap's manic Friday leads a Communications sector that was the week's top performer
It was the week for Communications Services stocks to settle as the top-performing sector in the market, rising 3.3% as a group on a week where the S&P 500 hit another record high and the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished over 35,000 for the first time. And the week's leaders were paced by an Internet platform that is (somehow) quietly piling up strong quarterly results. Snap (SNAP) did most of it's week's moves Friday, rising 23.8% (of a week's gain of 31.5%) following a report where growth in users and revenues each hit four-year highs. Revenues more than doubled for the quarter and user growth indicated no slowdown, growing broadly around the world. Roku (ROKU) was another stock finishing a top week on a strong point.
