NCBDY - Sony RTS jointly acquire fighting-game esports competition
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SNE) and the new esports venture RTS have jointly acquired the Evolution Championship Series fighting-game event. The series will return this year as Evo Online, a fully online competition happening Aug. 6-8 and Aug. 13-15. “Fighting games have been a vital part of PlayStation’s legacy and our community since the very beginning, and we’ve been thrilled to partner with Evo over the years,” says Sony's Steven Roberts. Evo will be operated by a joint venture between Sony and RTS. The event will allow players to compete in Tekken 7 (NCBDY), Street Fighter V: Champion Edition (CCOEY), Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate (T), and Guilty Gear Strive (Arc System Works).
