BLDE - SPAC Zanite Acquisition sees slight pop on report of talks with Eve Urban Air Mobility
narvikk/iStock via Getty Images SPAC Zanite Acquisition (ZNTE) is said to be in discussions to merger with Eve Urban Air Mobility, an electrical vehicle takeoff and landing co. owned by Brazil's Embraer (ERJ). Zanite rose 0.45%. A transaction is expected to value the combined entity at about $2B, Bloomberg reported earlier. The SPAC is trying to raise new equity for a deal. SPAC Zanite Acquisition has said it's targeting companies in aviation, aerospace & defense and urban mobility with an enterprise value of $750M+. Co-Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Ricci is the principal of Directional Aviation Capital, which own various aviation enterprises including Flexjet, Sentient Jet and PrivateFly. Zanite joins a spate of flying taxi companies that have announced SPAC deals this year including Joby Aviation, which is going public though a deal with SPAC Reinvent Technology Partners (NYSE:RTP) and Archer Aviation, which is going public through SPAC Atlas Crest Investment Corp.
