Spartan Acquisition Corp II ([[SPRQ]] -1.0%), a special purpose acquisition company, has announced that its shareholders approved its acquisition of point-of-sale financial company Sunlight Financial. Spartan is sponsored by Spartan Acquisition Sponsor II, owned by a private investment fund managed by an affiliate of Apollo Global Management ([[APO]] -4.9%).The proposed acquisition was approved by 97% of shareholders in a special meeting on July 8, 2021. The transaction is expected to close on July 9, following which the merged company will be renamed Sunlight Financial Holdings.The combined company's common stock and warrants will start trading on the New York Stock Exchange from July 12 under the tickers "SUNL" and "SUNLW".Press Release
