Low volatility strategies are very interesting, especially in the current environment of high market volatility. Historical figures are showing that low volatility strategies are outperforming the S&P 500 on a risk adjusted basis, so I would argue that we are in a market environment where they should be considered by every investor. In this analysis I will look at the Invesco S&P 500 Low Volatility ETF ( SPLV ), the second largest low volatility ETF focused in the US. To put things in perspective, I will use the iShares MSCI USA Min Vol Factor ETF ( USMV ), that I covered here with a buy rating as a peer....
