SBBP - Strongbridge names Richard Kollender as new President and CFO

Strongbridge Biopharma (SBBP) is up ~25.0% in above-average volume after the company announced the promotion of Richard S. Kollender to the position of president and chief financial officer with effect from March 3, 2021.Previously served as the chief operating officer of Strongbridge since September 2019, Mr. Kollender will succeed Robert Lutz as the chief financial officer.A former member of board directors and the chairman of the audit committee, the new president and chief financial officer will have added responsibilities of the chief operating officer.Having performed sales and marketing roles at GlaxoSmithKline, Mr. Kollender served as a director of Strongbridge Biopharma from March 2015 until his executive-level appointment in 2019.The company announced in October that it was looking forward to initiate the Phase 3 Paltusotine Program in H1 2021 for the treatment of acromegaly.
