CYD - Surging demand for generators boosts Generac and Pioneer Power

Generator stocks have taken off this past week as a rare cold snap hit Texas.Among them is Generac (GNRC), which is up 28% on the week, along with Pioneer Power Solutions (PPSI), which is ahead by 20%.Other names that have soared, but pared most of the gains, include Caterpillar (CAT), Regal Beloit (RBC), China Yuchai (CYD), Westport Fuel Systems (WPRT) and Cummins (CMI).Freezing natural gas pipelines, as well solar and wind generation that went offline due to the weather, led to blackouts across the Lone Star State. Texas Governor Greg Abbott even banned sales of the state's natural gas beyond its borders.
