VIACA - T-Mobile shuts down TVision partnering with Google and Philo instead
T-Mobile (TMUS) is shutting down its TVision streaming bundle just two years after launch, replacing it with discounted deals on YouTube TV ([[GOOG]], [[GOOGL]]) and Philo. An expansive new multi-year deal with Google means that YouTube TV is going to be T-Mobile's premium live TV service, with Philo serving as the base service. Each will be discounted for customers, making Philo $10/month and YouTube TV $55/month. The company is also offering a promotion where existing TVision Live customers get a free month of YouTube TV along with three free months of YouTube Premium (usually $11.99/month). It's a "big upgrade," T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert says, noting YouTube TV has twice as many channels as TVision Live (notably including sports) while Philo has nearly twice as many channels as TVision Vibe.
