TRP - TC Energy declares force majeure at Columbia gas line section in Virginia

TC Energy ( NYSE: TRP ) -3.5% in Tuesday's trading after its Columbia Gas Transmission Pipeline declared force majeure at a section in Virginia due to a fire that erupted following an explosion along Interstate 81 in Strasburg.
The company said it isolated a section of its Line VB pipeline after detecting a pressure drop; no injuries were reported.
"As a result of the pressure reduction, physical deliveries to the LOUDOUN LNG interconnect have been impacted," Columbia Gas said in a notice to shippers.
The incident comes a day after TC Energy ( TRP ) said it agreed to sell a 40% interest in its Columbia Gas Transmission and Columbia Gulf Transmission pipelines for C$5.2B to Global Infrastructure Partners.
