TRP - TC Energy says Ontario Pumped Storage Project moves to final evaluation

TC Energy ( NYSE: TRP ) said Monday the Canadian Ministry of Energy will begin a final evaluation on the proposed Ontario Pumped Storage Project and issue a decision by the end of the year.
Proposed for development by TC Energy ( TRP ) and prospective partner Saugeen Ojibway Nation, Ontario Pumped Storage would be Ontario's largest energy storage project, delivering clean energy during times of peak demand.
The company said the project is subject to approval by its board and a successful partnership agreement with the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, and will target a final investment decision in 2024; if approved, the project is expected to be in-service in the early 2030s.
