TIXT - Telus expanding 5G network in $90M infrastructure push

Canadian telecoms firm Telus Communications (TU +1.5%) is expanding its 5G network in Greater Montreal in a $90M infrastructure investment. The network will expand to more than 70 communities in the Montreal, Lanaudière, Laurentides and Montérégie regions. Telus has been tapping multiple vendors to expand its 5G network to more than 615 communities and over 70% of the population by end-2021. The firm, a subsidiary of Telus Corp (TIXT -0.6%), has invested nearly $250B in national network infrastructure, operations and spectrum since 2000, and plans to spend another $9B in Quebec by 2024.
