TSCDF - Tesco truck drivers distribution workers to go on strike
Tesco (OTCQX:TSCDF) workers at several distribution centers are going on strike, according to a Reuters report. The Unite union said that warehouse employees and truck drivers at various locations would stop work to protest the supermarket's offer of a 4% pay raise. The strike will compound problems faced by British retailers as driver shortages ahead of the busy season is expected to potentially affect product availability. "We are disappointed that some have voted to proceed, and we have contingency plans in place to help mitigate any impacts," commented a spokesperson from Tesco, which believes that the offer is fair. In October, Tesco launched an Amazon Go style "just walk out" store.
