PSX - Texas refineries pipelines feel limited impact from Storm Nicholas
Texas and Louisiana refineries appear to have made it through Tropical Storm Nicholas without major problems so far, Argus Media reports. Nicholas shifted to the east enough to miss a direct hit on export facilities in Corpus Christi, Texas, so NuStar Energy's (NYSE:NS) crude export terminal was not hurt by the storm. Exxon Mobil's (NYSE:XOM) Baytown and Beaumont refineries in Texas are operating normally with "no significant damage or flooding" observed on first checks, the company told Argus. Phillips 66 (NYSE:PSX) says its Sweeny refinery in Texas is operational and conducting post-storm assessments, and its Lake Charles complex in Louisiana also is running normally. Chevron (NYSE:CVX) did not lose power at its Pasadena, Texas, refinery, as operations remain normal. LyondellBasell (NYSE:LYB) says its Gulf coast assets, which include the Houston refining complex, were undamaged, although it shut its Matagorda polymer complex in Bay City because of a widespread power outage.
