IWFH - The Data Is In: REITs Outperform In The Long Term
- Real estate investment trusts ("REITs") are my favorite asset class for long-term investment.
- Growth stocks are all the rage among investors these days, and private equity is a popular choice for pension funds. Both could be overlooking the underrated potential of REITs.
- A recently released study of pension fund assets shows that, of 12 asset classes, REITs generated the second highest realized total returns from 1998 to 2018.
- What generated the highest return? Private equity. But there are good reasons to believe that PE won't be able to repeat its strong performance over the last few decades.
- Now is a great time to go long REITs.
