VDE - The Market Has Sold Off: Here Are Some Steps You Can Take
- Markets have been selling-off. This is understandably making investors nervous. In this review, I take a look at some actions we can take now.
- This sell-off has been broad and painful, with few places to shelter. This represents opportunity, but also acts as a sign of caution that correlations between assets are too high.
- Readers must make sure they are within their risk tolerance. If one is already past their tolerable range of losses, then perhaps "doubling down" or adding to their positions isn't ideal.
- Pointedly, my "buy" recommendations assume investors have some cash on hand and/or have income coming in to invest. I would not advocate using a lot of leverage here or over-extending a portfolio because more pain could be on the way.
