Introduction
As hyperscalers turn to nuclear power for clean, reliable energy to support growing demand for AI-related compute, President Trump has signed an Executive Order to quadruple US nuclear capacity by 2050. 1 Accounting for up to ~50% of uranium fuel costs, enrichment has become a critical bottleneck. 2 Once the sole provider of nuclear enrichment in the West, 3 the US now has virtually no commercial enrichment capacity. Europe, Russia, and China now dominate, as shown below.
