CELH - These stocks are seeing some short squeeze action - watch out above

S3 Partners dug into the short interest data on U.S. stocks to find the names that are seeing the most pressure exerted on investors with short positions.

Ihor Dusaniwsky filtered the stock universe to pull out squeeze candidates with over $50M worth of short interest outstanding, high Squeeze Scores by S3's analysis, and recent mark-to-market losses piling on heat on investors.

The 12 stocks that made S3's "squeeziest" list included Digimarc ( NASDAQ: DMRC ), Cabaletta Bio ( CABA ), Celsius Holdings ( CELH ), Zentalis Pharma ( ZNTL ), AppLovin ( APP ), Sana Biotechnology ( SANA ), Microvision ( MVIS ), Upstart Holdings ( UPST ), Fisker ( FSR ), Springworks Therapeutics ( SWTX ), Cassava Sciences ( SAVA ), and EHang Holdings ( EH ).

Digimarc Corporation ( DMRC ) is the name on the list with the biggest recent gain, up 20% in just a week. Upstart ( UPST ) is right behind with a strong earnings rally this week. Cabaletta Bio ( CABA ) is rated at Strong Buy by Seeking Alpha analyst Terry Chrisomalis . Meanwhile, two of the stocks on the S3 "squeeziest" list also have high Seeking Alpha Quant Ratings - with Celsius Holdings ( CELH ) rated at Strong Buy and AppLovin ( APP ) rated at Buy.

Earlier this week, Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler said the regulator is not looking at a ban on short selling. "We at the SEC are merit neutral — folks can go long, folks can go short, as long as those markets work," he stated.
